Excalibur

WOW!! An awesome film, stunning visuals and musical score, great (albeit unauthentic) costumes, a classic story and some brilliant casting! Nicol Williamson is perfect as Merlin, capable of providing high drama, comedy relief and scathing sarcasm in equal measures. Patrick Stewart and Helen Mirren are taylor made for their roles, adding new depths to the well known characters. In fact the only weak link in the entire film is the lead actor, Nigel Terry, who's accent wanders more than a tribe of Nomads on racehorses, and is never quite as convincing as he should be.
