Seemingly inspired by (read - a rip off of) Star Wars and a Shannara novel, "Hawk" was an ernest attempt at a high fantasy movie. Magic swords, elves, a giant, and a helmeted evil lord should have made a great film. Unfortunately it turned out completely corny. The hero really doesn't carry the show, and with some dubious effects the film tends to appear more as farse than fantasy.
